Online Quiet Time
If you want to deepen your relationship with the Lord Jesus, it's a brilliant idea to spend time each day quietly reading the Bible and praying. That way you get to hear from God, and to talk to him - and it's life changing!
Jesus said: "... when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." (Matthew 6:6, NIV)
This practice has become known as a "Quiet Time" - because that's what it is!
There are all sorts of things you can do to help you to read the Bible and pray like this - and one of them is available online: it's called onlinequiettime.net, and it's something designed and produced by David Heath-Whyte (Holy Trinity's Vicar) during his sabbatical in 2009.
Onlinequiettime.net helps you to read different parts of the bible alongside each other - this way you pick up the links between the different books of the bible. It also encourages you to read the whole bible in a year! But it's flexible too - you can read just one passage if you want, and take as long as you like.
